Community & Leadership
We strengthen community leadership by supporting communities in developing the skills and collective power to organize, take action, and respond to challenges, while creating solutions that address issues affecting their communities and Puerto Rico as a whole. Projects such as the Food Security Committees and disaster response groups guide our team in working alongside communities.

How We Do It
Our Projects
Food Security Committees
We defend everyone’s right to access healthy food. Each Food Security Committee emerged from the knowledge and experience communities gained in responding to the hurricanes, earthquakes, and pandemic that affected Puerto Rico.
Community Mutual Aid Responses to Disasters
Organized communities are able to respond swiftly when circumstances call for collective action. Building on the experiences Puerto Rico faced between 2017 and 2022, Taller Salud strengthened its knowledge and capacity for disaster preparedness and response, tailoring our approach to the unique needs of each region and its communities.
Community Organizing
Community organizing is essential to preparing for and responding to events shaped by social, political, and environmental forces. Taller Salud works alongside communities as they identify and address issues that affect their people and their well-being.
